Keyline’s National Rail Division has announced the launch of a new out-of-hours emergency service at 35 of its depots, which have been strategically placed across the UK to maximise accessibility.

The out-of-hours emergency service, which is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, is an industry first. The move comes in response to the wide spread rail disruptions caused by the recent storms, which has further highlighted the non-stop nature of the sector.

When a rail contractor requires materials out-of-hours they can contact Keyline through the company’s centralised emergency phone line. The response team swings into action, taking details of the customer’s location and opening the closest depot.

Richard Wade, rail sector manager at Keyline, said: “As industry leaders, Keyline is dedicated to providing the highest levels of service. The Keyline National Rail Division supports the rail network 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and our emergency call out operation further reinforces our commitment to all stakeholders connected to the rail industry. By having this service operating across 35 locations nationwide, there will always be a depot within easy reach to assist in times of emergency.”
