Heatrae Sadia has launched a free online training academy to help installers, specifiers and electrical wholesalers increase their knowledge and understanding of water heating products in a fast, flexible and convenient way.

The Heatrae Sadia Training Academy programme has been developed in conjunction with e-learning specialist Cortexa.

There are currently four Heatrae Sadia training modules available:

  1. Unvented Hot Water Systems
  2. Electric Heating Products
  3. Drinking Water (Hot and Cold)
  4. Decentralised Water Heating Products

As the programme is designed to be flexible, learners can simply choose the modules that are most relevant to them, meaning they can focus on the products they most often fit, specify or sell.

Each module is simple and straightforward to complete, and the programme ‘talks’ to the learner using an audio transcript, removing the need to read lots of text. The modules include relevant regulations and industry issues, details about specific products (including models, sizes and specifications available), installation requirements and features and benefits.

After reading or listening to all the relevant information, a learner simply moves onto the questions and answers section, which assesses what they have learned. There are eight multiple choice questions and the trainee will be given a pass mark if they achieve a score of 70% or above.

Jon Cockburn, head of marketing at Heatrae Sadia, said: “The Heatrae Sadia Training Academy is a great interactive learning tool for installers and specifiers, but it is also an industry first for this kind of training to be available for electrical wholesalers.

“As an important part of the supply chain, we believe that electrical wholesalers should be equipped with all the information they need to accurately recommend and sell our products and ensure they are being installed in the correct applications.”

The modules have been designed to be flexible enough to fit around the life and commitments of the learner. There is no time limit to complete the learning stages or the assessments, although each module is designed to take around 20 minutes to complete, and the module can be paused or replayed at the click of a mouse.
