Obituary: Ian Robey

Ian Robey OBE, a past president of the BMF, passed away on 25 November 2013 after a long illness.

Mr Robey was president of the BMF from 1979 to 1981. He worked for Cakebread Robey & Co for 40 years, having earned numerous promotions along the way after joining the Enfield-based company in 1950. In 1990 Mr Robey retired as chairman of the company.

A founding member of the National Home Improvement Council in 1972, Mr Robey was chairman of the Council in 1982 and 1983.

With a strong Christian faith, Mr Robey never stopped serving in whatever capacity he could to make the world a fairer, better place.

A Thanksgiving service will be held on Saturday, 25 January 2014 at Trinity Church, Knebworth at 2pm.
