Carl Kammerling International has held an awards ceremony to mark the dedication and commitment of six of its employees, who have together clocked up a total of 180 years with the company.

A family-run business, Carl Kammerling prides itself on being a good employer and believes its focus on teamwork and mutual respect helps to make a happy and loyal workforce. The company employs over 80 full time staff in a variety of roles and boasts an above average length of service of 13 years, with some choosing to spend their entire careers there.

The milestones celebrated include 25 years’ service for managing director, Tom Meyerratken and warehouse operatives, Geraint Hughes and Jonathan Griffiths. Emyr Roberts, inventory controller, has been in control of supply for 35 years and both Cathy Williams, export clerk and Valerie Cooper, office services manager have given 40 years of service.

Originally founded in 1904, Carl Kammerling International relocated from London to Pwllheli, Wales in 1954, with the six named playing a significant part in the company’s journey to success. In recognition of the contribution they have given to the business, executive director, Arnold Kammerling paid homage to the loyalty shown and presented each with an award at a ceremony attended by the recipients and their families.

Mr Kammerling said: “It is often said that a business is only as good as its employees and it is true that Carl Kammerling International can afford much of its success to a team of hard working, loyal employees. We felt that the commitment shown by Tom, Geraint, Jonathan, Emyr, Cathy and Valerie deserved recognition and held the award ceremony to demonstrate our appreciation of the length of service they have given and to show just how much we value our employees.”

Speaking of his 25 years at Carl Kammerling, Mr Meyerratken said: “A lot has changed since I joined Carl Kammerling International 25 years ago – I have watched the company go from strength-to-strength and I myself have grown with it. What hasn’t changed are the core family values and it is these that make Carl Kammerling International such a great place to work. I am honoured that Geraint, Jonathan, Emyr, Cathy and Valerie have dedicated their careers to Carl Kammerling International, and I am proud to be among the long-serving team and to receive such recognition of my own time with the company.

“The team is the foundation of Carl Kammerling International, which serves to demonstrate why I, and so many others, have remained with the company for so long.”
