Jewson’s Watford branch suffered damage last week when a lorry crashed into its warehouse.

A Jewson spokesperson said: “We can confirm that an accident took place at our Jewson site in Watford [last] Wednesday, where a Biffa lorry collided with part of the branch, causing considerable damage.

“The driver of the lorry was taken to hospital but we’re pleased to report he was subsequently discharged. No one else was injured during the accident and we will be undertaking a full review into the cause of the accident. The area affected is fully cordoned off for safety reasons and, after a brief closure, the branch is open to serve customers as usual.”
