Eight staff from London and South East branches of City Plumbing Supplies (CPS) recently completed a 200-mile sponsored cycle from Ipswich to Dover, to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust.

The cyclists completed a challenging average of 67 miles per day despite the cooler autumn weather conditions and constant rain showers. The three-day route down the west coast of England included a section through central London, and took the cyclists to 15 different CPS branches along the way.

Dave Griggs, regional director at CPS, said: “Only a few of us were regular cyclists before we made the decision to complete the route back in March so it’s safe to say we did some training before the big day. It’s a tough ride for anyone; it really was physically exhausting!

“We kept ourselves entertained along the way with a few pedal mishaps and resultant topples, but I’m glad to say we didn’t have any injuries. The stop-offs at CPS branches helped so that we could dry off, drink a hot cup of tea and generally warm up.

“We’d like to thank everyone who sponsored us, our staff and customers have been fantastic and we couldn’t have done it without your support.”
