Five years of successful trade targeting at Plumbfix

It is just over five years since Plumbfix was launched to offer Screwfix customers from the plumbing trade an exclusive trade offering.

Today, Plumbfix offers thousands of products tailored to meet the specific requirements of the plumber, available in-store at over 270 locations, online or by phone.

Sandra Everett, senior marketing manager at Plumbfix, attributes the company’s success to a simple and straightforward business model.

“When we launched the business in 2008, our mission was simple: cater for qualified plumbers and heating engineers only,” she explained. “Over the years we have developed pioneering partnerships with the plumbing industry to promote safety in installation, and have used the market-leading business infrastructure available to Screwfix to ensure our plumbing customers get the very best products at low fixed prices, quickly and easily.

“Today we continue to do all this and more. Plumbfix is still only available to customers who can prove their professional trade status within the industry, but they can now also fully maximise the pace of development that multi-channel shopping provides. This is thanks to an expanded presence online and a significant network of counters available to the plumber, helping to make the Plumbfix brand even more accessible to specialist trade professionals across the UK.

“In turn, this means that we can focus on saving our customers time and money.”

She concluded: “There is no doubt that sustainability is going to be the focus for the plumbing industry across the next five years and beyond, providing increasing opportunities for qualified plumbers. The rising cost of energy bills along with the move towards higher energy-saving options and ECO-friendly products, are just some of the trends that have driven our recent range extensions.
