MKM Building Supplies has signed a deal with The Cloud to offer customers free Wi-Fi across all of its 39 branches.

The service will allow MKM customers to access free and fast Wi-Fi on their mobile devices.

From July 13, MKM will provide Wi-Fi to improve the customer experience in-branch, an area which has always been at the core of the MKM ethos. Later in 2013, the MKM product portfolio will be accessible via the Wi-Fi landing page which will contain a link to MKM's mobile site.

"The vast majority of our customers are in the building trade and therefore rely on internet access to ensure their businesses are running well," said Rachel Waugh, marketing manager at MKM. "In offering free internet access, we'll ensure they get the most out of their visit to our branches with the goal to improve our own service and enable them to improve theirs to their own customers."

When customers log in to The Cloud's Wi-Fi, they will be directed to a landing page, from here they can access the internet and begin using email and apps to ensure they can respond to their own customers as quickly as possible.

"Like many industries, the building trade is increasingly reliant on the internet," added Vince Russell, managing director of The Cloud. "Orders, job queries and requests for quotes come in via email and over the internet, so tradespeople need to be able to access that information quickly and easily, and that's what MKM's free Wi-Fi service will allow them to do. Customers can also browse products and be directed to additional items, which should benefit both MKM and its customers."
