The Travis Perkins Group's planned £35m distribution centre in Warrington has been granted planning permission.

Omega Warrington will construct the 65,000 sq ft regional distribution centre (RDC), which is expected to be completed next year, with operation planned for 2015.

The centre will serve to supply the Travis Perkins Group’s wholesale and retail outlets across the region, supporting around 450 jobs onsite. The outline terms of the deal were announced and agreed between Omega Warrington and Travis Perkins at the end of April, subject to planning approval being granted.

Geoff Cooper, chief executive, said: “This is an exciting time for the entire group. We are growing our already extensive product portfolio, and our new RDC will enhance our offering by improving the supply of products to our branch network.”
