Supply chain date with Graham Construction

Published:  03 April, 2013

Graham Construction is looking to build a local supply chain of construction businesses from Ayrshire at an event hosted by Constructionline on Thursday 11 April in Kilmarnock.

Graham Construction is in the bid process for delivering a 10.5 acre new college campus in Kilmarnock College. The project will consist of building a five-storey college block, a shopping mall, a workshop block and sports facilities, including a four-court multi-purpose sports hall, fitness suite and an outdoor pitch.

The event will be attended by key decision-makers and personnel from organisations which are working on the bid with Graham Construction. Contractors will be able to meet with them face-to-face and discuss the opportunity of working together on the project.

Stephanie Lawrie, business development manager from Constructionline, said: “It can often be difficult for contractors to get involved with projects of this size. For this reason, it is great to see Graham Construction sourcing local subcontractors to help deliver this project within their community. Hosting events like this is one of the many added-value benefits we provide for our suppliers – we want to help them find and secure work and also make it easier for businesses to find reliable and local construction companies.”

Graham’s head of estimating and procurement Jonathan Hall said: “This event will give subcontractors and suppliers an opportunity to register their interest in current and potential upcoming projects for Graham Construction. Graham continues to recognise the need to support and work with local construction suppliers to boost local economies.”

The event is free and registration is advised to avoid disappointment. Visit Constructionline's website for more information.
