TBS’ bright yellow lorries deliver free in most of Warwickshire, Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes.
Simon Bullock, branch manager of TBS Daventry, said: “Most other merchants charge you for delivery, even if it’s just round the corner. At TBS we offer free delivery within a 15-mile radius, for any order over £50. This goes down very well with our customers, and our trucks are kept busy.
“Most TBS trucks are fitted with a crane, which allows us to deliver big bags or packs of blocks, bricks and timber easily. The latest additions to the fleet are fitted with remote radio control so the driver can lift a bag of topsoil, for example, over fences and the like.”
