£1.8m Sea Life Manchester aquarium

Published:  25 February, 2013

McGoff & Byrne has won a £1.8m contract at the new Sea Life Manchester aquarium at The Intu Trafford Centre.

The Altrincham-based builder will create the entrance, themed retailing, research laboratory, animal health care centre and an underwater visitors' tunnel.

The firm will also install specially-designed concrete tanks and life-support systems for the creatures that will be on display there.

James McGoff, managing director, McGoff & Byrne says: “The creation of the aquarium is a complex project, unlike anything we have ever built before. Construction is going well and we are confident that the facility, once complete, will be a world-class atmospheric, interactive and mesmerising sea life discovery.
