MANCHESTER: 17 and 18 June are the dates of Greenbuild Expo, a free exhibition on sustainable construction organised by the publishers of Professional Builders' Merchant.

The show, held at Manchester Central, will provide merchants with the products that form part of the green revolution.

Practical advice on sustainable products and services will be covered, along with aspects of building - from newbuild homes and extensions to refurbishment projects.

The two-day event includes a debate and seminar schedule, with sessions dedicated to topics such as renewable energy, the Code for Sustainable Homes, green roofing and reducing construction waste.

Workshop sessions will feature sustainable products, allowing visitors to get hands-on with the technologies and gain an understanding of how they can be integrated within all types of buildings. Workshops will include rainwater harvesting, airsource heat pumps, ICF, solar and greywater recycling.

Communities and Local Government (CLG) will be at Greenbuild Expo to talk to visitors about the 2010 updates to Parts L and F of the Building Regulations.

The Get Britain Building campaign, which is working to persuade the Government to back the construction industry with actions rather than words, will be presenting its latest information on the morning of 17 June. Housebuilders, merchants, developers, local authorities and housing associations are invited to attend this presentaton to help put the construction industry at the centre of the Government's recovery agenda.

The launch will be led by Ron Storer, president of the Federation of Master Builders, with speakers from the BMF, British Precast and members of Parliament.
