WORCESTER: Worcester Bosch has predicted that 2010 would likely be recorded as a flat year – a sign of improvement over recent years which have seen downturns in growth across most sectors.
However, director of Bosch Thermatology Carl Arntzen warns that this should not be taken as an ongoing trend. "The year started badly with a 12% downturn due to the weather," he said at a press meeting yesterday. "But March saw a 34% increase year-on-year due to the boiler scrappage scheme. Since June, it has been a mixed bag, but there is no doubt that things have slowed since the end of boiler scrappage.
"The fall of both Connaught and ROK generates uncertainty, which in turn makes things unstable."
The company's predictions for the future of boilers starts with a challenging 2011 remaining flat, with little movement either way, and 2012/2013 showing a slow increase. Although times will be challenging for some time to come, there have been, and may still well be, market growth opportunities to be taken advantage of.
