WILTSHIRE: Nine acres of land earmarked for new homes in Calne has been purchased by Redrow Homes

Award-winning Redrow is looking to build 92 high quality new homes from its sought-after New Heritage Collection, including a range of two-bedroom apartments and three, four and five-bedroom family homes.

Subject to a reserved matters planning application, Redrow could provide a further 40 affordable homes.

Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow Homes (South West), said: "This is an excellent location on the edge of Calne, with great commuter links to Swindon and Bath.

"Close to the beautiful Wiltshire countryside, our traditionally styled New Heritage Collection is perfect for the location and we will be sensitive to the surrounding green field location."

Redrow's New Heritage Collection was launched earlier this year and combines 'Arts & Crafts' influenced, traditional looking exteriors with family friendly layouts and bright, modern interiors. Examples of New Heritage homes are already being built by Redrow in nearby Devizes and proving extremely popular.

As part of its plans in Calne, Redrow is proposing to contribute more than £250k towards local education provision, £100k to improve Anchor Road Community Park and up to £100k to upgrade pedestrian and cycle facilities around the site. Subject to planning approval the developer will also implement new traffic calming measures on Oxford Road.

The new development is well placed for local conveniences, including the nearby town of Chippenham, which is just six miles away.

A reserved matters planning application is due to be submitted to Wiltshire Council this month.
