LEAMINGTON SPA: Hot on the heels of a visit from Team Synergy of BBC’s popular television series ‘The Apprentice’, Plumb Center and Parts Center are to launch their own apprenticeship programme.

The structured two-year programme will recruit up to 25 apprentices across the remainder of 2010 and into 2011, with the majority of the recruits working within Plumb Center and Parts Center. Other Wolseley UK businesses will be implementing a similar programme over the coming months.

All apprentices enrolled in the programme will complete a Level Two Apprenticeship in Customer Service in year one, and a Level Three Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service in year two.

To ensure that all the participants are maximising their potential, they will each receive regular reviews and feedback on their performance. They will also be assigned an internal and external mentor.

‘A well-structured apprenticeship programme will bring countless benefits to both the apprentices and the company offering the programme,’ said Keith Jones, managing director of Plumb Center. ‘Our successful apprentices will be given the opportunity of gaining real-life work experience and valuable on-the-job training and in turn, we will ensure the business is equipped with the right people, who have the right skills.
