SOUTHEND: Wolseley and Tesco maintenance staff entered into a partnership to participate in the 50-mile London to Southend charity cycle marathon.

Wolseley staff met the Tesco seven-strong team and transported the team and their bikes to the starting line of the British Heart Foundation charity bike ride. After all seven finished the ride with very impressive times – the top two finished in 4hrs 45mins – Wolseley's team was on hand to take the team and their bikes home.

Sean Collins, Wolseley's contract team director, said: "We are delighted to be able to help out our partners wherever we can, particularly when it is in aid of such a worthy cause. To hear that the team has already raised an impressive £1235 is fantastic news."

Wolseley works in partnership with Tesco Maintenance, a 1000-people in-house team maintaining 2000 Tesco stores.
