WARRINGTON: Travis Perkins has leased a warehouse in Warrington for its North West distribution base.

The 68 000sq ft self-contained warehouse unit at Spectra Business Park on Slutchers Lane includes an additional 1.5-acre yard, has been leased for five-year lease for an undisclosed sum from Maro Developments.

The new premises form part of a 20-acre manufacturing and industrial complex, which includes 247 000sq ft of industrial, warehouse and office space occupied by a number of tenants. The accommodation is currently available on a leasehold basis.

Andrew Johnson, surveyor at Knight Frank, which acted on behalf of Maro Developments, said: "Travis Perkins first put out a requirement for a new North West base through Colin Chivers of CPPC approximately five months ago. The requirement criteria included a circa 80 000sq ft industrial/warehouse unit with a good sized yard and originally focused on a 10-mile radius of Warrington, so we felt that Spectra could fit the bill perfectly.

"Spectra benefits from manned gated security and CCTV monitoring with an on-site manager. We believe that this, coupled with the self-contained nature of the premises and large, secure yard, gave Spectra an edge over the competition," Mr Johnson added.
