LONDON: B&Q UK has launched its first 'eco shops' within its stores in New Malden and Sutton, and plans to have 1700 eco advisers in place by September 2010, according to Kingfisher's Corporate Responsibility Report 2009/10.

A key achievement over the period has been to increase eco product sales to more than £1bn for the first time – representing 10% of total sales.

The company states that it has also made good progress in reducing the environmental impact of its stores, with the total carbon dioxide equivalent emissions (from energy and transport) decreasing by 8% in 2009-10.
