All of Elliotts' 13 branches now provide defibrillators for anyone who may need them.

Five of the 177 year old merchant's branches provide outdoor defibrillators that are therefore accessible 24/7, while the remaining 8 branches keep their defibrillators indoors, meaning they are available to the local community during opening hours.

The company decided to invest in defibrillators after a first aid refresher training course highlighted their importance: someone who has a cardiac arrest has a 90% chance of survival if defibrillation occurs within 1 minute.

“It was easy to see how vital these machines can be in terms of the potential to save the life of an employee, customer or anyone nearby to an Elliotts that may need one”, said Managing Director Tom Elliott.
