WICKHAM: In keeping with its programme of continual investment, independent timber and builders' merchant Sydenhams, has taken delivery of three Lancer 5 tonne LQ 50 sideloaders for its fleet.

The trucks were procured by Sydenhams' materials handling partner Lift West after careful consideration of the merchant's business needs and its other available products.

“As a forward-thinking company we have to keep on investing in the right equipment to ensure that the business maintains its competitive edge even though the economic climate may remain tough,” said Chris Hiscock, Sydenham’s operations director. "This outlook reflects the company’s proud history, having been founded way back in 1874 and now 126 years on, expanding to a network of 17 branches.

The Lancer sideloaders are finished in Sydenhams' corporate blue and feature fully enclosed and protected cabins; adjustable steering and pre-controllable hydraulic functions; heat and defrost systems and easy access to the rear platform.

As Andrew Whitehouse, managing director of Liftwest observed: “We conducted a thorough evaluation of Sydenhams requirement and the available equipment in the market place and chose Lancer on a best fit, best quality, best value basis and the trucks will be based in Sydenhams' timber branches in Wickham and Poole.”
