A Bognor Regis community group has received a donation of materials from Covers Timber & Builders Merchants.

The Men’s Sheds Association, which supports Bognor Regis Men’s Shed at Durban Road, is a community initiative run by volunteers.

It aims to reduce isolation and loneliness among men and women by providing a space for them to socialise, build and create interesting projects.

The group received a supply of timber from the Station Yard-based business, enabling them to make three new woodwork benches and install wooden, wall-mounted boxes for holding supplies and fixings for future projects.

Mel Twinley, Vice Chairwoman of Bognor Regis Men’s Shed, said: “We are hugely grateful to Covers for its generosity. Men’s Shed operates very similarly to a traditional garden shed as a space for people to enjoy working with wood and other materials.

“We rely on donations from companies like Covers so we can continue to run our group. We are extremely grateful for any support we receive.”

Paul Allwright, Depot Manager at Covers Bognor Regis, added: “We are keen to help support community projects whenever we can.

“The Men’s Shed is a fantastic initiative and we were delighted to be able to help them complete their latest project and see the results of their work.”
