Northamptonshire’s youngest merchant, Hevey Building Supplies, is “delighted” to have acquired Huntingdon Timber.

Huntingdon Timber has been operating from St Peter’s Road Industrial Estate in Huntingdon since 2004, under the ownership of David Biddle Patricia Reynolds & Stuart Bradley. The owners approached Hevey Building Supplies as they believed the business was a natural fit.

Mark Mulvey, Managing Director of Hevey, said: "We are delighted to have the opportunity to acquire this well-established business from its retiring owners.

“Huntingdon Timber has great staff and loyal customers, a reputation for great service and a comprehensive stock holding.

“We’re really looking forward to developing the Hevey brand in Huntingdon – a thriving area with an excellent transport network.”

Hevey is part of the Lords Group of Companies. Lords CEO Shanker Patel added: “The Lords Group is delivering on its commitment to grow the business to be a leading supplier within the merchant industry.

“Our investments in building our team is enabling the Group to achieve its long term goals and I am grateful to all our colleagues for their commitment and hard work."
