A previously unusable area of space has now been converted into a picnic terrace at Sun Hill Junior School thanks to a donations from a local merchant.

Covers Timber and Builders’ Merchant’s Alresford branch delivered items including artificial grass to the school, helping it to create a new all-year-round useable space complete with picnic tables.

Emma Polglaze, who is the chair of the PTA at Sun Hill Junior School, said: “With school budgets more and more stretched, it is extremely difficult to make much needed improvements to our facilities.

“It’s only from the generous donations of others, including Covers, that we are able to make the differences that will benefit our teachers and children. Thank you Covers for your support!”

Michael Sheath, Depot Manager at Covers Alresford, said: “It’s a pleasure to help Sun Hill Junior School with this project.

“We hope the teachers and pupils enjoy their new picnic area for many years to come.”
