The newly-created HR role at Russell Roof Tiles will strengthen its position in attracting new talent.

Nikki Rowbotham (pictured right), joins the roof tile manufacturer as its first HR Manager. She has more than eight years’ experience across public and private industries.

This comes as the construction industry faces a skills shortage, with an additional 150,000 new recruits needed by 2020 if it is to keep up with demand.

Rowbotham’s role will be to improve the work environment internally for the staff at Russell Roof Tiles, as well as encouraging home-grown talent to contribute to the future success of the business

She will also ensure that the manufacturer is fully compliant in regards to new HR legislation and requirements.

Rowbotham said: “It’s really great to work with like-minded people who share your values and vision. The family-like culture of the company drew me to the position.”

Andrew Hayward (pictured left), Managing Director at Russell Roof Tiles, added: “We already have a great record of staff retention and HR initiatives.

“Just last month, John Jamieson celebrated 44 years with us and we were proud to give 10 employees long service awards in 2018.
