LOUGHBOROUGH: One Great George Street, London, is the home of the Institute of Civil Engineering and the venue Polypipe Water Management Solutions (WMS) chose to host its CPD seminar covering issues relating to sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) and water management.

Polypipe WMS brought together a gathering of industry speakers for the one-day event aimed at informing consulting and civil engineers, local authorities and specifiers on the design guidance and legislation governing SUDS best practice.

Topics covered during the event were selected to provide the most up-to-date information on current industry and legislative drivers, with the aim of providing attendees with appropriate advice following recent Government and EU legislation such as Future Water, the Floods and Water Management Bill and the Water Framework Directive.

Dr Jason Shingleton, general manager for Polypipe WMS commented: “The feedback we’ve had from the event has been very encouraging.

"We felt that as a responsible manufacturer at the forefront of the SUDS and water management market we were in a position to tackle the confusion that has crept into the industry regarding the use of appropriate SUDS solutions.

"By offering practical advice to delegates through independent and impartial speakers, we hope the event has gone some way to improving the level of understanding of SUDS.

“We are delighted with the interest shown in the event and are already looking at a potential series of seminars to target various locations within the UK. The popularity of the event demonstrated the current and topical agenda of the seminar and the calibre of the speakers.”
