A 23-foot tall Christmas tree made entirely of roof trusses has been unveiled at Pasquill’s Inverness branch.

The supplier had created a smaller design last year and, after receiving a great response, decided to supersize the tree for Christmas 2018.

The design team used MiTek Pamir 3D software to plan the structure. The 3D modelling and augmented reality allowed the team to understand the scale of the tree.

Once the design process was completed, the individual pieces were cut, pressed and plated together at the branch. The base was anchored to the ground and the individual pieces were put into place to form the structure. The final touches of the lights were then added, giving the branch a festive feel.

Donaldson Matheson, Senior Designer at Pasquill, said: “After the success of the previous years ‘Trussmas tree’ we decided to make a larger version this year.

“It has proved to be a great success, giving our customers the Christmas spirit during the festive period.”
