Saint-Gobain joins campaign to end modern slavery

It has been supported by industry sponsors including Saint-Gobain, which operates in 66 countries and has more than 170,000 employees.

In the EU, construction ranks second only to the sex industry as the sector most prone to exploitation.

As part of this new campaign, Stronger Together will run specialist training workshops and provide free resources including a best practice toolkit for businesses.

Stella Boot, Head of Supply Chain Development and Purchasing Excellence at Saint-Gobain UK and Ireland said: “We are delighted to be able to contribute to the development of this very important programme for professionals in the construction industry.

“Modern slavery has no place in the industry and we need to come together to ensure this is eradicated from all supply chains sector-wide.”

Pamela Zielinski, Construction Programme Manager at Stronger Together, said: “Stronger Together has been working to stamp out modern slavery in supply chains for five years now.

“Our construction specific activity began last year and continues to grow. We are grateful to all our project sponsors for their ongoing support.”

Construction specific workshops will take place on 15 November in Derby and 11 December in London. Spaces are still available and you can book your place here.
