Merchant buying group H&B has announced a number of changes to its executive structure.

Nick Lander has been appointed Chairman, replacing Peter Buttle who had been in the role since its formation 21 years ago. Lander will chair the H&B board and help provide strategic direction.

He said: "H&B believe in providing industry leadership, showing agility and being commercially focused, and we believe these announcements reinforce this position."

Steve Parkins is H&B’s new Managing Director. He said: "Since joining the H&B group I have been amazed by the amount of potential, mixed with a superb culture and spirit.

“I am really looking forward to leading the group through the next chapter in what will be a long history."

Mark Gilham will become Finance Director in December this year. He has previously has held senior positions within the Grafton group.

Peter Ces Agraso has been appointed Category Controller. During his 20-year career, he has held senior category management roles in companies such as Staples, B&Q, Jewson, Grafton and Travis Perkins.
