A team from Wirquin has raised money for charity by taking part in the St George’s Dragon Boat Race in Lakeside, Doncaster.

The sanitary equipment manufacturer raised more than £400 for Sheffield Children’s Hospital and Doncaster Rotary Club.

The team of ten paddlers and one drummer competed in a 30 foot Dragon Boat with the team name ‘Wirqueens and Kings’. They had to complete the 250m course twice, with the fastest nine teams battling it out in the semi-finals and the top three in the final.

The ‘Wirqueens and Kings’ came 13th out of 24.

This was the boat race’s 9th consecutive year, and Wirquin has taken part in the last five.
