FAREHAM: The valve stock division of Wolseley UK has appointed Harris Transport as a preferred carrier. The company is part of the palletforce distribution network and will handle deliveries of the company's industrial valves and other products in UK and Europe.
Tim Tempest, warehouse and transport co-ordinator for valve stock, said Harris Transport's competitive prices and reliable service helped the company to win the business.
"Price played a big part in the deal. We had a target to shave off some costs and Harris Transport was very understanding of that," he said.
Chris Rollett, Harris Transport's business development manager, said: "This shows how the company has continued to move forward and set new standards during what has been a difficult time for the haulage and distribution industry."
