We are retained by a leading Timber Importer who due to continued success in the UK market place are seeking to recruit an experienced Operations Manager to support their Managing Director in ensuring that all product requirements are received and despatched in a timely fashion and ensure that all operational, administration, H & S and business controls are adhered to.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure all risk assessments are up to date and signed.
  • Train and evaluate team, organise product training where necessary
  • Review inventory and sales records to prepare for management meetings
  • Confer with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales and productivity
  • Formulate and regularly review production and pricing policies for merchandise , according to profitability
  • To ensure that customer service standards are exceptional at all times.
  • Monitor sales, collections and delivery activities ensuring customer receive satisfactory service.
  • Provide excellent customer service by greeting and assisting customers, responding promptly to customer inquiries and resolving complaints; executing multiple tasks at one time.
  • Ensure compliance of business controls.
  • Always ensure compliance with all Company Health & Safety legislation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

  • Good delegation skills
  • Timber Mill Experience
  • Ability to handle difficult and complicated sales.
  • Knowledge of Company products/market desirable
  • Results Driven
  • Ability to engage, motivate a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Diligent with a fine attention to detail
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Sales/ service management experience
  • Good Numeracy & Literacy Skills
  • Excellent relationship building skills

  • Experienced working in a pressurized environment
  • IT literate including Word and Excel
  • Positive attitude and outlook
  • Ability to multi task
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
