Following the Company’s announcement in July that it had started the process of identifying a new Chief Executive for its Southern division, Breedon is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Pearce. Mike is currently Managing Director of the Aggregates division of Aggregate Industries Limited.

Mike will take up the position in the new year, joining Breedon’s executive committee and succeeding Tim Hall, who will be leaving the Company at the end of September. In the interim, the Southern division will be led by Colin Parke, who currently runs Breedon Southern’s Central region, reporting to Group Chief Executive Pat Ward.

In his current role Mike is responsible for nearly 50 quarries, collectively producing over 30 million tonnes of aggregates each year. He was previously Commercial Director, coordinating strategic activities across all AI’s business divisions, whilst also heading up the Contracting division. He has been a member of AI’s executive committee since 2009, during which time he has been variously responsible for AI’s building products, ready-mixed concrete and asphalt businesses.

Pat Ward, Breedon’s Group Chief Executive, said: “Mike brings vast experience of the construction materials sector to Breedon, having held senior management positions in every key area of the industry. Just as importantly, he shares our values and culture. We are delighted to have attracted him to Breedon and look forward to welcoming him to our leadership team.

“In the meantime, we would like once again to thank Tim for the significant contribution he has made to the Group over the last seven years and wish him well for the future.”
