Gower Timber’s merchant yard.

Robert Price acquires Gower Timber

Published:  26 July, 2017

Now with a network of 22 branches, Robert Price has acquired Gower Timber for an undisclosed sum.

Based in Penclawdd on the north side of the Gower peninsular, Gower Timber is predominantly a timber merchant. Holding a substantial range of timber and board products, the company also stocks and sells an array of general building materials. An on-site mill offers timber cutting, planing and a protimising treatment service.

Being part of The Robert Price Group will bring opportunities for growth and new avenues for development at Gower Timber.

Working closely with its existing mill at Taffs Well, Gower Timber will enhance and extend its current timber specialisation, simultaneously improving branch coverage in the western reaches of its network. It will also be further developing the builders’ merchant side of the business, working closely with its existing branch at Somerset Place, in Swansea city centre.

Gower Timber will continue to trade as a separate business under the Gower Timber banner.
