HiB has announced the promotion of two of its longest serving employees to directors.

Brothers Neil and Richard Berry have taken on the positions of operations director and logistics director respectively.

Having each worked at the company for almost 20 years, Neil and Richard are the latest example of HiB’s investment in staff progression and development.

Neil, who joined as a warehouse operative, aged 16 years old, said: “When I first started at HiB, there were just three people working in the warehouse and I was responsible for picking and packing orders, unloading deliveries and other general duties.

“The company has grown enormously since then – we now have a team of 60 in the warehouse, and pack around 11,000 orders a month, compared with 500 in 1997. Prior to my recent promotion, I was working as warehouse manager, and with my move to operations director, I am now responsible for the smooth running of the distribution centre.”

Richard, who also joined as a warehouse operative, said: “I’m approaching my 20th anniversary at HiB – and what a journey it’s been. I’m thrilled to have been a part of HiB since the beginning and to have grown with the company as its blossomed into the amazing success it is today. As logistics director, I’m now responsible for all transport and purchasing, and I take huge pride in that.”
