The builders merchant opened the doors at South Cardiff – the company’s second branch in the Welsh capital – Thurrock and Warrington at the same time.

The multiple openings further emphasised the branch expansion plans of Selco, who will unveil a host of further new branches before the end of the year, including in Poole, Basildon and Hemel Hempstead.

Chris Cunliffe, Selco chief executive, said: “The most pleasing aspect of these three branch openings is the geographical variety. The Thurrock branch cements our position in the south east while Warrington takes us back into the north-west to build on our other three branches in Ardwick, Ashton Moss and Baguley.

“In opening a second new branch in Cardiff we are giving tradespeople in the area a greater level of service and extra options as they go about their daily work.”

The new branches all feature the full Selco offering, including Selco Hire and a comprehensive kitchen design service.

Chris added: “We also have numerous online services including Click and Collect within 30 minutes, a next day courier service with over 6,500 products available and the opportunity for tradesmen to create their project lists online for them to be prepared in branch.

“We are a genuine multi-channel builders merchant which allows our customers – who we always put first - the chance to get their building materials in the most convenient way possible.”

The new branches have also seen Selco continue their support to the local community by giving away £3,000 to local charities in each area.

Selco branches supply everything needed to build a house or carry out any refurb job including doors, windows, insulation, roofing, heating, plumbing supplies, lighting, electrical products, kitchens, bathrooms and timber.

Branches also offer an in-branch café, trade services, direct-to-site delivery options and van size parking spaces, all designed to make it easier for tradespeople to get back onto the job as soon as possible.
