Arthur McArdle, National Vice President of the Federation of Master Builders (FMB), will present a builder's view of Brexit at the Builders Merchants Federation's (BMF) Members' Day in September.

Together with his sons, Arthur owns and runs Woodfield Building Services (Staffs) Ltd, carrying out domestic and commercial refurbishments for local authorities, housing associations and the general public. He originally trained as a carpenter and joiner, before setting up his business in the mid 1980s. He has been an active member of the FMB since that time.

BMF Managing Director John Newcomb said: "EU tradespeople have come to play a crucial role in plugging the construction industry's chronic skills' shortage. In the lead up to Brexit, the FMB has expressed its concern over the Immigration Bill and I'm sure Arthur will touch on this and other key issues for SME building firms."

Members' Day 2017 will be held at Jurys Inn Hinckley Island Hotel in Leicestershire. The Business Conference and the BMF's black-tie Awards Dinner both take place on 20 September. The BMF’s annual Golf Tournament will be held on the previous day, 19 September, along with other social activities such as quad biking and rifle shooting.

The event is being sponsored by headline sponsor Encon Insulation, while Marsh Industries, Monument Tools and First Event sponsor the Awards Dinner, Golf Tournament and Social Activities.
