OBITUARY: Jeff Hulme, Sharples Davies Ltd

Published:  24 March, 2017

Sharples Davies Limited has sadly announced the passing of managing director Jeff Hulme, after being diagnosed with cancer in June 2016. Mr Hulme passed away on 7 March, 2017, aged 61.

Mr Hulme was well known in the building products industry, having begun his building products career in 1982 with Sadolin as a distribution salesman. He went on to become key account manager, national account manager, sales & marketing manager, and then sales director. In 1990 Jeff moved onto Uponor as sales & marketing director, where he spent four years before becoming sales director of Bernstein.

In 1996, Mr Hulme set up his beloved Sharples Davies, where he built a recruitment consultancy based on his strong beliefs of honesty and integrity, and on eliminating the frustrations he experienced while recruiting for his sales teams in his time as sales director. Due to his approach, Sharples Davies is now recognised as a leading recruitment consultancy within our industry.

Mr Hulme's son, and sales director of Sharples Davies, Gareth Hulme, said: "The Hulme's and Sharples Davies will never be the same again, we are certainly better for having being guided by him."

BMN would like to offer our sincere condolences to Mr Hulme's family, friends and colleagues in the industry.
