Andrew Bullard has joined builders’ merchant, Collier & Catchpole, bringing with him nearly 30 years’ timber experience.

With Collier & Catchpole’s newly constructed warehouse and the capacity to store a greater variety and much larger stock at the Wherstead Road site, Mr Bullard’s role will be primarily business development and raising awareness of the company’s capability to supply timber across Essex and Suffolk, sourced from a range of suppliers known for their sustainability and quality.

With his knowledge of both supply and retail, Mr Bullard is able to advise customers and colleagues on the most suitable specification and materials, which includes fencing, sheet materials, cladding, mouldings and high grade soft and hard woods.

In welcoming Mr Bullard to the family-run business, Tim Rowbottom, managing director of Collier & Catchpole, said: “We continue to recruit with an eye to the future and believe that specialist product knowledge is important to our customers and key in differentiating Colliers from our competition. With significant on-going investment, particularly to the Ipswich yard, it is a great time for Andrew to join us.”

Commenting on his new role, Mr Bullard said: “It feels good to be back working with a product with which I am so familiar but with the added challenge of selling for, rather than to, the builders’ merchant sector. I was attracted to the solid integrity of the Collier & Catchpole brand and look forward to making sure that the building trade know what great timber products we have to offer.”
