Jewson has been chosen as the front of shirt sponsor for Oxford United Football Club’s under 18’s team after pledging its support to the Friends of Oxford United Youth Academy group.

Founding members of the Youth Academy group were placed into a draw by the Club to win the shirt sponsorship of one of the academy teams and Jewson was picked as the winner.

The draw was set up to raise funds for Oxford United Youth Academy’s grassroots coaching, aimed at unearthing the next generation of local talent who will go on to play for its first team.

Craig Roberts, branch manager at Jewson Abingdon, said: “The Friends of Oxford United Youth Academy scheme is an important cause to support young people in our area.

“For Jewson to appear on the shirt is a bonus. The real joy is in knowing that, through this scheme, we’re playing a part in ensuring that local talent is given a platform to progress and flourish with their hometown club.”
