The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) celebrated the New Year by welcoming Forterra as its 200th supplier member.

John Newcomb, managing director of the BMF, said: “BMF membership continues to grow in number, breadth and strength. I’m delighted that Forterra joins as our 200th supplier member and look forward to working with them as we strive to represent every segment of the industry in the coming year.”

Forterra is a manufacturer of clay bricks, concrete blocks and bespoke masonry products. The company has annual revenues in excess of £300m and its brands include London Brick and Thermalite and its products are widely used in both residential newbuild and RMI.

Adam Smith, commercial director of Forterra, said: “Joining the BMF is a natural step for us. We aim to make it easy for customers to do business with us across our extensive product range and this brings us closer to an important customer group. It is a superb forum for our dedicated sales and marketing team to increase their exposure to the UK’s builders’ merchants and better understand future trends and customer needs.”
