LONDON/TAMWORTH: An updated version of the Code of Practice: Hardware for Fire and Escape Doors has been issued by the Guild of Architectural Ironmongers and the Door and Hardware Federation and is being hailed as 'the guide' for those responsible for fire safety in buildings.

It has been updated and revised to include all the latest standards, Building Regulations, approved documents and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order.

The new code is claimed to be the only comprehensive and authoritative source of information available in the UK to offer advice for construction professionals on this subject.

It offers information on relevant products and standards to help and guide all those responsible for fire safety in buildings, regardless of the amount of knowledge they have of door hardware.

The guide contains hotlinks to all of the publicly available documents which it references including Building Regs, approved documents, acts of Parliament and DHF Best Practice Guides.

The Code of Practice is available for browsing in a fully-interactive format on the DHF website.
