Aggregate Industries to introduce new vehicle fleet
Published: 12 September, 2016
Aggregate Industries is introducing a new fleet of safer and more advanced mechanical offload trailers and EN-XL curtainsiders, as part of its new logistics partnership with Eddie Stobart.
Eddie Stobart has just taken delivery of the innovative fleet, ahead of commencing a new contract with the concrete products division of Aggregate Industries. The new vehicles will help to ensure greater flexibility when off-loading on site, making the process more efficient and safer for drivers who will be able to adapt how they offload to each location.
The new trailers feature the Atlas 92.2–A1 roller demountable crane, operated from the vehicle or the ground, which gives operators the ability to select the safest offload option. Fitted with a positive rear steer and front axle lift; the combination ensures maximum carrying capacity and on-site manoeuvrability. The EN-XL rated curtainsiders feature a securing system that enhances safety and decreases loading and unloading times.
Eddie Stobart has also initiated specialist training to educate drivers and ensure the most effective use of the new equipment.
Simon Marriott, concrete products director at Aggregate Industries, said: “The varied nature of our work requires a very flexible haulage partner with specialist equipment. Our partnership with Eddie Stobart means that we can offer customers enhanced vehicles that will make a real difference to every stage of their delivery. Above all else, safety is our number one concern and these new vehicles are equipped with technology that will help protect other road users, our employees and our customers.”
