Some of the strongest men from across the UK went head to head in a battle of strength and endurance at the Rudridge Ultimate Strongman Giant event in Belfast over the recent bank holiday weekend.

A display of tough disciplines, including tyre flipping, truck pulling and barrel lifting, tested the strength and stamina of some of the sturdiest athletes, who often consume up to 10,000 calories a day during competitions.

Eddie Hall, from Stoke-on-Trent in Staffordshire, defended his title of UK Strongest Man for the sixth consecutive year, beating Jonathan Kelly from Ireland and Aaron Page from England who placed second and third respectively.

Alan Betteridge, director at Rudridge, sponsor of the event, said: Congratulations to Mr Hall on his well deserved victory. We were witness to a truly incredible event with some mind blowing displays of strength that made for spectacular viewing.”
