Macmillan Cymru is very close to the heart of LBS and its employees. Last year was a difficult time for LBS, with three of its colleagues sadly lost due to cancer. Early in 2016 several branches suggested money should be raised to support Macmillan’s in memory of their lost colleagues and the whole company got behind the idea.

On 22 May, over 200 LBS employees, family and friends walked to the top of Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in Britain south of Snowdonia. Despite the threat of heavy thunderstorms, the weather remained good and everyone made it to the summit.

LBS’s charity walk helped to raise £12,206, which was presented to Sue Reece, fundraising manager for Macmillan Cymru. She said: “We are so grateful to everyone at LBS Builders Merchants, their families and friends, for organising the event and taking part in making it such a fantastic success. The money raised will make a real difference to people living with cancer in the local community and will help Macmillan Cancer Support to continue providing the right support at the right time.”
