Giacomini is excited to be advancing its brass valve and component sales within the UK.

New roles have been created and new staff recruited to place an increased focus on business development to support existing customers whilst breaking in to new markets.

In 2014, Giacomini created a new role for its senior project manager Laurie Brain, making him business development manager. As part of this new role Laurie, who has been with the company since 2002 and helped establish the Italian company’s office in the UK, is responsible for developing new business relationships whilst building on existing ones.

18 months down the line, the role has worked out so well that Giacomini has expanded the business development team with the appointment of a second business development manager to work alongside Laurie. Jo Clarke has now joined the team.

A qualified aeronautical engineer with retail development management experience, as well as having previously worked in the plumbing and heating industry as a branch manager and contract sales manager, Jo will work with Laurie and will be responsible for the north of the United Kingdom and Laurie will focus on the south.

Managing director, Matt Lowe, commented: “The creation of business development roles within Giacomini has proven to be incredibly successful; it’s fantastic that we’ve had to expand the team so quickly! Laurie has already made a significant impact on our development within the merchant marketplace and I’m sure Jo will further this.”

Discussing her new role Jo commented: “When I first joined the industry my long term goal was to work for a manufacturer, but I knew it had to be right one for me. When I first met with Giacomini I knew instantly that it was right for me. Although Giacomini UK is part of a bigger international company, being part of a smaller developing team really appealed to me as did knowing I could make a difference to the team rather than just being a number.”

Italian based Giacomini is widely recognised in the sector as being a leading supplier of European manufactured components and systems for the distribution of heating, cooling and domestic hot water.

The UK subsidiary, Giacomini UK, also specialises in the supply of heat interface units and underfloor heating systems. Their unique complete underfloor heating package takes projects from manufacturing, through to design and installation via its network of approved UFH installers.
