This summer, Champion Timber was awarded bronze status in the Fleet Operation Recognition Scheme (FORS), a voluntary accreditation scheme for vehicle compliance and safety awareness.

Champion Timber’s head office branch in New Malden successfully passed the first stage in the scheme after an assessment completed by a FORS auditor found that all the criteria for the bronze stage was met. To receive this accolade, Champion Timber demonstrated its constant monitoring and improvement of safety, emissions and fuel efficiency. The company showed that it has an active plan for improvements moving forward by keeping up to date with industry changes and regulation.

Martin Roberts, transport manager at Champion Timber, said: “We are incredibly proud to have been awarded bronze status by FORS. At Champion Timber we pride ourselves on not only high quality timber but also on high levels of safety, and believe it is important to constantly look at ways we can improve. We are looking forward to implementing our procedures across all our branches and to work our way up the FORS accreditation ladder.”
