Hanson’s budding talent builds new infrastructure at Jamie’s Farm

Published:  03 August, 2016

A team of 11 potential senior leaders from Hanson UK’s career development programme rolled their sleeves up to make a series of improvements at Jamie’s Farm in Rowlestone, Herefordshire.

Jamie’s Farm acts as a catalyst for change, enabling disadvantaged young people to thrive academically, socially and emotionally. This is achieved through a residential experience at its Wiltshire and Herefordshire bases and a follow-up programme, combining ‘farming, family and therapy'.

The Hanson group selected the charity as part of its learning programme and volunteered to build a new outdoor dining area, resurface the access lane and improve hardstanding areas. The company also donated 200 tonnes of aggregate, 120 tonnes of asphalt and 70 cubic metres of concrete along with safety clothing for future use on the farm.

Jamie Feilden, founder and CEO, said: “We are thrilled with this new partnership with Hanson. The combination of manpower plus materials has really enhanced our Herefordshire farm and will ensure we can give the highest quality residential programmes for our visiting young people.”
