Robert Price Charity Challenge 2016
Published: 21 June, 2016
On Saturday 2 July, a team of 20 challengers are taking on this year’s Charity Challenge - the 2016 Tour de Robert Price Duathlon.
Robert Price branches across South Wales are located in a beautiful part of the world, and the Charity Challenge team this year will be taking on some of it. Robert Prices’ own branch-hopping route cuts straight through the Brecon Beacons National Park, all the way to Cardiff Bay. The 50 mile route will test the team physically and mentally, as they aim to complete it in under 12 hours.
This year’s event sees the team walk from the Robert Price branch in Brecon to the branch in Merthyr Tydfil, via the summit of Pen-Y-Fan, the highest peak in southern Britain. After this, at Robert Price Merthyr, the team will be jumping on their bikes and riding the Taff Trail, passing Robert Price Taffs Well, through Cardiff and on to Cardiff Bay, adding a further 30 miles to give an overall challenge distance of 50 miles.
Robert Price is hoping to raise £2500 for the chosen charities, Cancer Research Wales, as part of the 50for50 campaign and Mind (Torfaen & Blaenau Gwent).
