Norbord welcomed Fergus Ewing, SNP parliamentary candidate for Inverness and Nairn, on a tour of its site in March. Mr Ewing was accompanied by Maree Todd, SNP parliamentary candidate for Highlands and Islands.

The pair met with Norbord Europe's managing director, Karl Morris, and the site’s maintenance manager, Jack Macleod, as well as production staff to learn more about the plant’s expansion plans.

Norbord has pledged to invest £95m in the plant, securing the long-term future of its 130 employees and hundreds of other jobs supported by its supply chain.

Mr Ewing said: “"Having worked with Norbord management for the last 16 years when I have been the local MSP and business minister in the outgoing Scottish Government, I am absolutely delighted that Norbord are making a substantial commitment to the Highlands by their massive investment in a modern plant.”
